Colin Kaepernick has made a massive announcement amid his plans to return to the NFL.
The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback has effectively been blackballed from the league but hasn’t given up on his desire to make a comeback despite being away from the game since 2017.
Kap was spotted training in the summer and may have a coaching job waiting for him. Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh is keen on adding him to his staff, though not before the end of the current season.
But while he continues to work on getting back on the field, the player-turned-activist is engaged in plenty of other ventures.
The 36-year-old is the founder of the Know Your Rights non-profit organization, which recently held its 13th camp, according to his Instagram story. The camp, where he speaks to kids, was held in Philadelphia this time around.
What Is Colin Kaepernick’s Major Announcement?
Kaepernick also owns a publishing company called Kaepernick Publishing. He recently announced the upcoming release of a new memoir called “Dear Dad.’ The book, written by Jay Patton, details her life growing up with a parent in prison.
The website, kaepernickpublishing.com, offers a description.
“As far back as nine-year-old Jay Jay Patton can remember, her dad, Antoine has been in prison,” it reads.
“Growing up in Buffalo, New York with her mom and younger brother, she’s only been to visit him twice. Instead, the two have sent each other numerous letters — Jay Jay’s letters can take weeks or months to reach her dad, and some never even get delivered. What’s it going to be like having Dad home?”

Colin Kaepernick has a soft spot for independent creators and is looking for ways to help them get their content out to the world. The above is a chief example.
The former Niners QB also recently launched an AI company designed to fashion stories for creators.
