The rapper was arrested 25 years after the interview took place
A resurfaced 1999 interview with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs sees the rapper seemingly predicting his future arrest.
Last week, the music mogul was arrested in New York on charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He was denied bail by a judge twice and is set to remain in custody until his trial. The date is still undetermined.
A core of Diddy’s indictment so far has dealt with parties the rapper allegedly hosted and called ‘freak offs.’ In these events, sex workers and those trafficked were allegedly forced into sex acts that were often recorded and sometimes lasted for days.

While a slew of past clips of Diddy talking about his parties have since gone viral online, one 1999 interview with Entertainment Tonight sees the rapper not only talking about his parties, but also seemingly predicting his arrest.
“Your parties are the hottest ticket around,” an interviewer tells Diddy at the start of the clip.
“They won’t even give me a permit for the parties man,” Diddy replies. “They don’t want me to throw the parties no more. We ain’t gonna stop. We gonna keep on having fun bringing people together from all walks of life.”
“You gonna hear about my parties,” he continues. “They’re going to be shutting them down. They’re going to probably be arresting me, doing all types of crazy things just because we want to have a good time.”
In 1999, Sean “Diddy” Combs spoke with ET about the sort of parties he likes to throw. “They’re going to be shutting them down. They’re going to probably be arresting me, doing all types of crazy things just because we want to have a good time,” he said at the time, while…
“Whenever you bring up a different element into people’s environment, things that broaden people’s horizons, people get intimidated,” he adds. “It’s a lot of people out there that feel intimidated by it, and it ain’t nothin’ but breaking down racial barriers, breaking down generational barriers, people from all walks of life.”
Upon the interviewer asking him how it feels to host the ‘hottest’ parties in town, Diddy then says, “It doesn’t make me feel in any way special. It doesn’t make me feel like a bigger person. It just makes me feel like I know how to throw a party.”
In response to news of Combs’ arrest, his attorney Marc Agnifilo told UNILAD: “We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

“Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children, and working to uplift the Black community. He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal.
“To his credit Mr. Combs has been nothing but cooperative with this investigation and he voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges.
“These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”
