When Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese take the court together as teammates at the WNBA All-Star Game on Saturday, the 2024 No. 1 overall pick believes her Sky rival will do something better than anyone else on the court.

During a red-carpet interview to kick off the festivities in Arizona, Clark predicted Reese will lead the All-Star Game in rebounds.

Reese’s 11.9 rebounds per game are the best in the WNBA this season, and Clark clearly expects her to show out on Saturday night when the WNBA All-Star team faces the U.S. women’s national team at Footprint Center in Phoenix.

“She’s certainly probably going to lead the game in rebounds. I expect that out of her that’s just what she does,” Clark said Thursday night.

The comment swiftly spread across social media, igniting a buzz fueled by the growing rivalry between the two standout rookies.

Despite Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese’s efforts to downplay the hype, the intrigue surrounding their rivalry has captivated basketball fans ever since their clash in the 2023 NCAA title game.

Their competitive saga began in college, with LSU edging out Iowa in that championship match, only for the Hawkeyes to exact revenge on the Tigers in this year’s Elite Eight.

“I’m really excited,” she said. “It’s pretty special to have two rookies in the All-Star Game, so I’m just soaking it all in. The fans are thrilled, and I think it’s great for the league. Reese is having an amazing season, so it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Since being drafted seventh overall by Chicago in April, Reese has made a significant impact, averaging 13.5 points per game.
