50 Cent performed at the 2022 Super Bowl with the likes of Eminem and Snoop Dogg
Over two years on from his Super Bowl halftime show, 50 Cent claims he only performed that evening because Eminem refused to take to the stage without him.
The singer’s inclusion was a little unexpected as he belted out some of his classics at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
50 Cent joined Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg and Eminem in a halftime show that will likely live long in the memory.
However, the 49-year-old claims Jay-Z’s entertainment company, Roc Nation, tried to keep him out of the show.
“They wanted to leave me out of it. They didn’t want me there,” the singer recently told the Hollywood Reporter.

“Yeah, they didn’t want me there,” he added, with the rapper adding it was the one and only Eminem’s doing which meant he was included.
50 Cent explained: “Eminem wouldn’t do it without me. That’s how I ended up on the show because he was not coming if I didn’t do it.
“When that happens, you go, ‘Damn, so you just lost Eminem because you didn’t bring 50? Damn. All right. Bring 50 then.'”
He added: “But if it was up to them, they would not have me there. I’m the surprise. I’m not on the bill at all. But they couldn’t get Em to do it without me.”
UNILAD has reached out to Rock Nation for comment.
During the memorable Super Bowl show, 50 Cent referenced the music video for his much-loved 2003 club anthem ‘In Da Club’ by hanging upside down like a bat.
However, in an interview last year with USA Today, the singer admitted that hanging upside down ‘was a mistake’.
He added: “Everybody else walked in regular, the songs still went over and they got the trophy too.”

The rapper was also subjected to body shaming comments following his Super Bowl performance.
He ultimately responded to one article by posting it on his Instagram page with the caption: “I call this teasing me.”
The rapper added: “They’re just teasing me because they know I can drop the weight.
“That’s why I laugh with them.
“Fat shaming only applies when you’re ashamed of your fat.”
50 Cent served as a special guest for the Super Bowl performance, while the likes of Eminem served as headliners.
