2Pac’s Family Launches Investigation into Diddy’s Alleged Involvement in Rapper’s Murder.
The family of the late rapper Tupac Shakur, widely known as 2Pac, has reportedly decided to investigate the longstanding rumors that Sean “Diddy” Combs may have been involved in his murder. This decision comes after recent claims by Keefe D, a former Compton gangster, alleging Diddy’s connection to the crime.
On Monday, July 29, TMZ reported that some of 2Pac’s relatives have hired a team of investigators and attorneys, including Alex Spiro and Christopher Clore, to look into Keefe D’s recent allegations. Keefe D claimed that Puff Daddy (Diddy) had offered him money to kill 2Pac in the 1990s.
In a 2009 police interview, Keefe D alleged that Diddy paid him $1 million to kill both Suge Knight and 2Pac during the height of the Bad Boy vs. Death Row Records feud in the mid-1990s. He stated that half of this amount was given to Harlem gangster Eric “Von Zip” Martin following 2Pac’s murder in 1996.
According to legal documents obtained by The Sun this week, prosecutors claim that Keefe D flew to New York with LAPD detectives months after the interview to gather evidence against Diddy and Martin. Keefe D had become an “active confidential informant” for a task force initially set up to investigate Biggie Smalls’ murder after being caught dealing large quantities of drugs.
The 179-page document reveals that Keefe D, along with task force officers, traveled to New York to “confirm the conspiracy” to kill 2Pac. Although Diddy was never charged at the time, 2Pac’s family now wants to uncover the truth and pursue criminal charges if any new evidence is found.
Diddy has consistently denied any involvement in 2Pac’s murder. In a 2011 interview with LA Weekly, he dismissed Keefe D’s story as “pure fiction and completely ridiculous.”
Keefe D, who has been diagnosed with cancer, is the only person charged in connection with 2Pac’s murder in Las Vegas over two and a half decades ago. Despite pleading not guilty, he has repeatedly admitted his involvement in the shooting, notably in his 2019 book, Compton Street Legend.
The investigation into Diddy’s alleged involvement in 2Pac’s murder has reignited interest in the unsolved case. As 2Pac’s family seeks answers, the hip-hop community and fans worldwide await further developments in this decades-old mystery.
