Maris Racal undergoes surgery for appendix removal

Maris Racal revealed that she recently underwent surgery to remove her appendix.

The actress shared photos of herself post-surgery on Instagram. “Congrats, it’s an appendix! 😗 Thanks to everyone who sent their love, my cool surgeon and doctors, nurses, and hospital staff for taking vv good care of of me,” she wrote.

The actress also expressed her gratitude to her sister who has been taking care of her. “Special shoutout to my little sister for looking after me on her birthday,” she posted.

Maris ended her post on an optimistic note, saying: “Still on the road to recovery ❤️‍🩹Rarampa muli.”

Maris Racal has undergone appendectomy surgery. The actress updated her  Instagram followers by posting some photos of herself in the hospital and  wearing a hospital gown.

Fans and fans of Maris were quick to extend their well-wishes for Maris.

Maris recently starred in the award-winning film Sunshine which had its Philippine premiere on July 23 and has been screening for four weeks in the country.

In April, Maris attended the film’s premiere at the Far East Film Festival in Italy, one of Europe’s largest showcases of Asian cinema.

Appendix got Maris Racal confined

In February, the film also won the Crystal Bear at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival. The Crystal Bear is awarded to the Best Feature Film of both the Generation Kplus and the Generation 14plus competition.

As per previous press release, Generation 14plus is a program in Berlinale that features the stories of children and teenagers. “Also known as ‘coming-of-age,’ the stories feature perspectives from young protagonists from around the world, highlighting the equally complex worlds of the youth.”

“It just goes to show that Filipino stories are very well celebrated. The only way to go international is to go local, love our own roots, art, stories, and I want to thank everyone for watching Sunshine,” Maris said in a recent interview as reported by Inquirer.

Directed by Antoinette Jadaone, Sunshine tells the story of a young gymnast who discovers she is pregnant during the week of national team tryouts. On her way to purchase illegal abortion drugs, she encounters a mysterious girl who eerily speaks just like her.
