Kapamilya actress Kiara Takahashi and her partner, professional rugby player Benny Gunter, revealed the gender of their first child.

On Instagram, the couple shared highlights from their intimate gender reveal party in Japan, attended by their closest friends and family.

“Thank you guys so much for coming. We are really so thankful to make a house full of friendly faces and family,” Benny said in the video.

 

He added, “For both of us, we are so blessed to have been a part of (this). We couldn’t be without you guys and we are so excited to be on this next chapter. We are so excited to build this (family).”

The celebration featured a cozy brown-themed setup, with guests dressed according to their guesses—blue for “Team Boy” and pink for “Team Girl.” Attendees even cast votes on their predictions before the big reveal.

Kiara and Benny then pulled a piñata-style box, releasing blue balloons and streamers, confirming that they are expecting a baby boy.

“I’m so happy. I would be happy if it was a girl as well but a boy first is the best, the best feeling. I can’t wait to make you my buddy. I can’t wait to do a lot of things with you that I couldn’t do,” Benny said trying to not break into tears.

Kiara added, “I’m so excited to meet you and siyempre sana lumaki ka nang mabait at excited kami na makita and we love you already so much.”

Toward the end of the video, the couple also addressed their unborn son: “We can’t wait to meet you. We can’t wait to welcome you into this world to shower you with so much love. We have great people in this room who can’t wait to meet you.”

Benny expressed, “We love you more than us, buddy!”

On Instagram, Pinoy Big Brother: Otso alum Kiara thanked everyone who made the event possible.

“Surrounded by love on the day we revealed ours 💙💖,” Kiara wrote. “To our friends and family who joined us in this very special day even if you are far away, thank you for being part of this.”

 

She also playfully thanked Benny, writing, “To the baby daddy @Benny_gunter thank you for your genes 😂🤍 I love you! #boydad IT’S A BOY!!!!!! 💙.”

Earlier this month, Kiara first revealed her pregnancy through a touching video and has since been sharing her journey into motherhood.

She also said in another post: “Somewhere between the quiet rain and the stillness of the trees, we find ourselves holding a love we’ve never felt before. For someone we haven’t even met yet. You are already the best part of us, and we cannot wait for the day we finally hold you in our arms. We love you, little one 🤍.”

In an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, she said she is taking a break from showbiz to focus on this new chapter.

“Everything is just on pause and that pause is such a beautiful pause because it’s an amazing experience as a woman. I’m just very excited for the new chapter and when I come back, it will still be me but a grown me. I feel like I can take all of that experience as a mom to my work and share that to other people,” she expressed.

Kiara and Benny also revealed plans to give birth in Japan, where they are building their dream home.

 

 

“We bought some land here out of all places–– where we both grew up and the first time we met. So at the moment, we’re looking at building our dream home here. It’s not to say that we’re gonna be here forever. Especially when we have our son or daughter on the way, we want them to have a place to call home for their childhood,” Benny said.
