LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Fans are buzzing with theories after Taylor Swift’s close friend and collaborator, Jack Antonoff, shared a December 2023 photo of the singer in the studio with producer Sounwave, whose real name is Mark Anthony Spears.
On September 18, Antonoff posted candid shots from recording sessions at Electric Lady Studios in New York City.

While images featuring Sabrina Carpenter and Paramore sparked some discussion, it was the photo of Taylor Swift and Sounwave, dated December 21, 2023, that truly got fans talking.
Sounwave has previously collaborated with Swift on tracks like ‘London Boy’ from ‘Lover’, as well as ‘Lavender Haze’, ‘Karma’, and ‘Glitch’ from ‘Midnights’.
However, he did not work on any of her ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ tracks, prompting fans to speculate that the photo could be linked to Swift’s next studio album, often referred to as ‘TS12’, or possibly one of her last two albums set for re-recording, with many assuming ‘Reputation (Taylor’s Version)’ will be next.
Speculation ramps up as fans connect the dots for possible new album
“Since Sounwave didn’t work on ‘TTPD’, and the date says December… she’s never not working omg dare I say this is TS12,” one fan wrote. Another chimed in, “Guys this is probably TS12, ‘Rep TV’ was already finished last year, since she stated in her TIME interview that the ‘Rep’ vault tracks were ‘fire.’”
Some fans tempered the excitement by pointing out that Sounwave had shared the same photo back in February while celebrating ‘Midnights’ success at the Grammys. Given that ‘Midnights’ was released in October 2022, it’s unlikely that the photo is from those recording sessions unless the timestamp was somehow modified.
When Sounwave originally posted the image, it did not include a date, raising questions about whether Antonoff added the date later or if Sounwave had removed it, suggesting potential significance. For now, Swifties will have to wait and see if Taylor has any surprises in store!
