Jennifer Lopez, turning 55 on July 24, has in previous years done everything from romantic dinners to lavish parties

Jennifer Lopez’s birthday parties are the stuff of legends.

Every year around her July 24 birthday, the “Let’s Get Loud” singer, 54, tends to get, well, loud. Given her epic revelries in the past, who knows how Lopez might celebrate her upcoming 55th trip around the sun?

Last year, for example, the Atlas star shared photos of what she called a “a gorgeous day full of sunshine and perfect for a pool party” in her On the JLo newsletter.

The “lil peek into my party,” as Lopez wrote, included shots of her dancing on a table and with arms around husband Ben Affleck, 51, who “hosted it at our new house with our closest family and friends.” That apparently included “all the kids”: Lopez’s twins, Emme and Max, with her ex-husband Marc Anthony, and Affleck’s children Violet, Seraphina and Samuel, who he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner. “I always liked having my birthday in July! The weather is warm and balmy and the mood is more relaxed,” she added.

Speaking of Affleck, Lopez’s birthday soirée the year prior was relaxed indeed: the couple shared a romantic dinner within view of the Eiffel Tower in Paris on the big day. That trip doubled as a celebration of their nuptials considering they tied the knot in their surprise Las Vegas wedding on July 16, 2022.

Lopez has even celebrated her birthday by going Instagram official: her 2021 celebration took place on a yacht in the Mediterranean Sea, with the “Jenny From the Block” singer providing glimpses of her laidback getaway alongside the Good Will Hunting Oscar winner, who she had just reconnected with.

But Lopez’s more subdued celebrations in recent years may have something to do with her legendary 50th birthday — which was so lavish and star-studded, it made countless headlines at the time. The Miami bash kicked off the singer’s massive “It’s My Party” tour, all in honor of her big milestone. In attendance at Gloria and Emilio Estefan’s sprawling estate were then-fiancé Alex Rodriguez, Ashanti, Fat Joe, DJ Khaled and more. The party featured a massive cake — complete with sparklers — and a fireworks show.

“I celebrated for almost three months straight, while on tour. We had a birthday cake every night,” Lopez recalled to PEOPLE in 2020. “It was so crazy, but it was so much fun.”

Of course, Lopez’s penchant for throwing parties extends to her closest loved ones. While with Anthony, 55, she threw him multiple surprise bashes, all massive family affairs. Last August, to celebrate Affleck’s 51st, she shared a sweet video of the happy couple singing along to Sam Cooke’s “(What A) Wonderful World.”

It remains to be seen how Lopez will celebrate the big day in 2024 — but odds are she’ll get on the floor!
