Diddy’s Desperate Texts to Cassie After 2016 Assault Revealed in Court

Diddy’s frantic text messages to his former girlfriend, Cassie, following a brutal assault in 2016 were made public during a bail hearing in New York on September 18, 2024. The rap mogul, whose real name is Sean Combs, was denied bail for a second time, with prosecutors presenting damning evidence.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Emily Johnson read out texts that Diddy sent to Cassie shortly after the attack at the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles. The incident, which occurred on March 5, 2016, reportedly left Cassie with significant bruising.

One of the messages read: “Call me, the cops are here. I got six kids. Yo, please call, I am surrounded. You gonna abandon me all alone.” Johnson noted that Diddy was aware of his actions and feared police involvement.

In response, Cassie texted him, stating: “When you get messed up, you knock me around. I’m not a rag doll. I’m someone’s child.”

The court heard further details about the assault, with Johnson revealing that witnesses saw Cassie trying to escape the room, where a commercial sex worker was also present. The prosecution refuted claims from Diddy’s defense that the outburst was sparked by Cassie discovering his infidelity.

Diddy had previously denied assaulting Cassie, even after she filed a sexual assault lawsuit against him in November 2023. However, surveillance footage of the incident surfaced in 2024, leading him to admit his wrongdoing. In a now-deleted Instagram post, he expressed remorse for his actions, acknowledging that his behavior was “inexcusable.”

The judge denied Diddy’s $50 million bail package, citing concerns about him being a danger to society and potential witness tampering. Diddy remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn and is scheduled to return to court on October 9, 2024.

This case has sparked widespread attention, with comparisons being drawn to other high-profile criminal cases.
