Sniper Jones claims 4 women’s basketball players consider Angel Reese ROY over Caitlin Clark (Source: Getty)
Angel Reese vs. Caitlin Clark has become a hot debate since the two rookies played their first games in the league. The fans are split with some supporting Reese for the Rookie of the Year award while some supporting Clark.
Youtuber Sniper Jones has expressed his opinion on the entire WNBA ROTY race and made a surprising claim. On Wednesday, Jones appeared on a podcast show with Big Holla and Tione Jones to discuss the situation of the Clark-Reese rivalry. The three also discussed the attitude of the WNBA and its players toward the Indiana Fever rookie.
“Every woman basketball player I’ve asked, they act like it’s not even a debate,” Jones said, claiming he spoke to four or five women’s basketball players who chose Reese over Clark for the ROTY award. [00:03:28] (h/t Ken Smith on X, formerly Twitter).
In his previous segments, Jones had praised Clark for her skills. He considers the Indiana Fever rookie the best passer he has ever seen with amazing ball control and vision. The YouTuber remarked that the skill gap between Clark and the Chicago Sky rookie was as big as a football field.
He presented the narrative of other players hating on the Fever rookie because of her popularity and highlighted that she deserved the ROTY award.
