Jayson Tatum, the star player of the Boston Celtics, showcased outstanding skills in the last NBA season, leading the franchise to its 18th Championship. The 26-year-old star, who recently adorned himself with a new tattoo, will start his 8th NBA season soon and is more confident in his skills.

After finishing the interview for the “7 PM in Brooklyn” podcast, Tatum was approached by Kiyan Anthony, the son of former NBA player Carmelo Anthony. Kiyan asked the Celtics star for his opinion on a potential one-on-one match between himself and prime Carmelo Anthony. You can listen to the conversation at the 3:10 mark in the video mentioned below.

Kiyan Anthony asked Tatum, “If you play my pops one-on-one in his prime, to 11, what do you think the score would be?”

Tatum was confused about the question and asked Kiyan to specify the year. Kiyan mentioned,  “Like last year with the Nuggets, going into the Knicks.”

Tatum responded, “We’re going to 11? 11-8, me.”

Tatum’s bold claim could catch the attention of several NBA analysts, and it will be exciting to see their reactions.

Jayson Tatum Asked Kiyan if He Believed He Could Defeat Him

After Kiyan finished his question, Tatum asked Anthony’s son if he could beat him at the age of 17. Initially, Kiyan confidently replied that he would dominate Tatum at that age, but later, he denied it and accepted that the Celtics’ star would be the winner.

Tatum has been a crucial part of the Celtics’ recent success. Alongside star player Jaylen Brown, the 26-year-old captivated the audience with his outstanding abilities throughout the 2023-24 NBA season. Regrettably, his performance in the 2024 Paris Olympics was subpar, as he spent most of the time on the bench and did not play well when given the opportunity.

The Celtics and Tatum are under the spotlight as they aim to defend their championship in the upcoming season, attracting more fans.
