Earlier this week, Chris Brown kicked off his eagerly anticipated “11:11” tour with a packed performance in Detroit. He graced the stage at Little Caesar’s Arena, performing a variety of his biggest hits, dividing the show into four different parts. From the start of the show, it was clear that Brown had given the tour his all. He performed on a rotating platform, opened with a Michael Jackson voiceover, and more. He even flew over the crowd on wires as they went wild from below.

At one point in the show, the R&B icon addressed the notion that he’s been “blackballed” from the music industry after facing various allegations of violence against women. According to him, it doesn’t appear to be true, based on the size of his Detroit fanbase. “For a n***a they say is blackballed, this don’t look blackballed to me!!!” he shouted while onstage.

Chris Brown Opens “11:11” Tour With Packed Detroit Performance

Brown frequently broaches the subject of being “blackballed” on social media, often suggesting that while the industry itself may want no part of him, fans certainly do. He’s scheduled to bring his “11:11” tour, which also features Muni Long and Ayra Starr, to various other cities across North America in the coming months. Brown will stop in Brooklyn, Montreal, Toronto, Boston, Atlanta, and more before wrapping things up with a performance at LA’s Crypto.com Arena on August 6.

Brown’s comments on getting “blackballed” also follow one of Azealia Banks’ online rants, in which she came to his defense. She questioned why he continues to face criticism for his alleged abuse when others seemingly get a free pass. What do you think of Chris Brown laughing off the notion that he’s been “blackballed” from the industry? What about him opening his tour with a sold-out show in Detroit?
