After the conclusion of the NBA Finals, the trade window officially began. With multiple trade and free agency rumors swirling around the NBA circuit, one can be of significance to the Milwaukee Bucks fans.
According to Chris B. Haynes of the Bleacher Report, the Bucks are set to part ways with Malik Beasley. The shooting guard will be entering free agency as his 1 year $2,709,849 expires.
Beasley played 79 regular season games for the Bucks with a PPG of 11.3. The 27-year-old showed flashes of brilliance during the playoff series against the Pacers, but the Bucks’ title bid fell flat without Giannis Antetokounmpo. The former Nuggets SG’s exit from the Bucks is part of the ongoing rebuild process of the franchise.
Brook Lopez is also set to be shipped away from the franchise as the team looks to transition into a new system under Doc Rivers. But for Beasley, what’s next? As the free agency market gets even more stacked with his inclusion, his future move can be a pivotal one for the team roping him in.
Looking at Potential Landing Spots for Beasley After Milwaukee Bucks Exit
After being a mainstay on the 2023-24 Bucks team, Beasley’s experience could be invaluable for any team interested in him. The most obvious landing spot for Beasley is the Rockets, who were already linked with him following the Bucks’ elimination.
Another move that could make sense is the Bulls. The Chicago franchise is already looking to trade Zach LaVine and Lonzo Ball so a player of Beasley’s calibre can provide the needed cover. On top of that, Beasley’s move could free up a lot of cap space if they are able to trade Ball and LaVine out.
A more speculative team that could take interest in the Bucks guard is the Celtics. The Celtics’ system of having multiple ball-handlers and two-way threats perfectly matches Beasley’s profile. The Cs have made their Championship dream a reality with bargain collections from the league and Beasley can easily join that list as the Shamrocks go into next season to defend their title.
