Milwaukee Bucks point guard Patrick Beverley has been slammed for telling a female reporter she is not allowed to interview him.
Milwaukee Bucks point guard Patrick Beverley has been slammed for telling a female reporter she is not allowed to interview him for a bizarre reason.
On Thursday the Indiana Pacers beat Milwaukee 120-98 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, to capture the series 4-2 and end the Bucks’ season.
Once returned, Beverley immediately chucked it back at the fan, who deflected the ball away. Upon Bucks staff and security stepping in, the fan and Beverley continued to exchange words.
On the incident, the point guard took to X after the game and said: “Not Fair at all. Exchanged between a fan and our ball club all night. We warned and asked for help all night. Not fair.”
Beverley continued to cause controversy in the wake of the defeat, however, by turning down a question from a female reporter because she did not subscribe to his podcast, ‘The Pat Bev Podcast with Rone’.
The point guard asked: “Do you subscribe to my pod?”.
Upon the reporter admitting that she wasn’t a subscriber, Beverley said: “So you can’t interview me then. No disrespect.”
Patrick Beverly tells female reporter from ESPN that she cannot interview him since she doesn’t subscribe to his podcast.
Beverley then took a question from a male reporter, once he was confirmed to be a listener of the podcast. As the journalist posed his question, the 35-year-old asked the aforementioned female reporter to “get [her microphone] out of [his] face”.
Despite her obliging and moving the microphone further away, Beverley then says: “Can you remove that mic please or just, get out of the circle for me please mam?”
Beverley’s actions have received much criticism on social media.
One person said on X: “For the second time today @patbev21 you suck.”
Another wrote: “What a loser man. He’s so mad.”
A third added: “If you’ve subscribed to Pat Bev’s podcast (God help you), now is the perfect time to unsubscribe.”
