LeBron James made headlines in 2018 when he joined the Los Angeles Lakers. Many questioned what the aging superstar could contribute to the team, but he quickly silenced his critics by leading the Lakers to their 17th NBA title in 2020. As he prepares for his 22nd season, LeBron is set to make history by playing alongside his son, Bronny James.

Despite soon entering his 40s, LeBron continues to put forward eye-catching performances, maintaining nearly the same statistical output as when he first entered the league. His remarkable longevity and ability to compete at such a high level have left fans in awe.

Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka addressed reporters on Wednesday, expressing his admiration for LeBron James and describing his enduring athleticism as one of the wonders of the world.

They say there’s the wonders of the world. It feels like he’s in that category. For him to be playing on the world stage at the level he’s playing. He’s about to be 40. It’s a wonder of the world,” Pelinka said.

Kwame Brown Slams LeBron James’ Game Evolution

LeBron James has his share of critics, including former NBA player Kwame Brown. In a recent interview with Swish Cultures, Brown expressed his belief that old-school players would find it easy to handle LeBron’s style. He also critiqued LeBron’s approach to scoring, contrasting it with the techniques of other NBA greats.

The old-school players wouldn’t have any trouble with LeBron because, at 39, he should have developed a mid-range and a postgame, and he still hasn’t yet. His game really hasn’t evolved outside of a three and putting his head down and going to the basket,” Brown said.

He doesn’t go like Paul Pierce, getting to a spot, pulling up. Those are the things you normally see out of a superstar player,” he added.

LeBron’s Lakers appear to have lost their luster in recent seasons. To silence critics like Brown LeBron, and the Lakers must mount a strong comeback this season as serious title contenders.
