WNBA rookie sensation Caitlin Clark continues to endear herself to the Indiana Fever fanbase, including newborns, as seen in a recent video circulating on social media.

During the Fever Fore Change team activity in Indiana aimed to raise money for women and girls through the Pacers and Fever Foundation, the star guard interacted with fans who came to celebrate with them. Among those present was a fan’s two-week-old baby – who Clark held in her arms – whose onesie she later autographed.

The team caught the cute interaction on video and shared it on its X/Twitter page on Thursday.

Caitlin Clark and the Fever are set to kick off the second half of their WNBA campaign on Friday against the Phoenix Mercury at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Indiana is currently third in the Eastern Conference and seventh overall with an 11-15 record so far. They got their campaign off to a slow start, going 1-8 before turning things around and going 10-7 in their next 17 games.

Along with their improved play was the emergence of Cailtin Clark as a steady force. She currently leads the team in both scoring and assists with 17.1 points, 8.2 assists, 5.8 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game on a 40.5% shooting clip in 35 minutes of play.

Also providing solid contributions so far this season are fellow All-Stars Kelsey Mitchell (16.9 ppg), Aliyah Boston (14.2 ppg and 8.7 rpg) and NaLyssa Smith (11.6 ppg and 7.7 rpg).

Caitlin Clark reenergized after much-needed break

WNBA rookies Clark, Reese get reset during Olympic break | Jefferson City News Tribune

Clark is excited to return for the second half of the WNBA season after what she said was a much-needed break from all the action early in her rookie campaign.

The Fever take on the visiting Mercury on Friday, where they will hope to improve on their 11-15 record and kickstart their push for a strong finish and a possible playoff spot.

Caitlin Clark spoke about the three-week break the league had for the 2024 Paris Olympics and what it meant for her as a rookie player.

The Iowa Hawkeye legend said (via KCCI Des Moines):

“Oh yeah, I think it was very helpful just to reset. Coming in here, I didn’t know my teammates very well and you’re just kind of tossed out on the court, trying to figure each other out. I think you can tell I’d gotten more comfortable over the last few games heading into the break, so I was kind of like ‘Oh, I need the break.'”

The game against Phoenix will be the third and last meeting for Indiana. The Fever have had the number of the Mercury for the season, taking their first two games. It will be interesting to see if Clark and Co. can push over the line to secure a postseason spot.
