In a ‘bizarre celebration’ against the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday, Los Angeles Dodgers sensation Shohei Ohtani ignited the internet.
The $700 million man raised eyebrows just minutes into the opening inning after steаling a base and sliding on the dirt.
With two outs and having stolen second base, Ohtani suԀԀenly stood up, took off his left batting glove, and started shakily shaking it next to his groin.
The gesture was not discussed during ESPN’s broadcast, and it was not included in the replay. Fans, though, didn’t take long to remove the video and post their opinions on social media.
One commenter commented, “Someone needs to tell Ohtani that [Bryson] Stott is a happily married man.” Stott is the second baseman for the Phillies.
Another person said, “He must have lost a bet,” while a third said, “He won’t get fined.”
“Blasting all over the catcher you just ran on is good baseball etiquette,” a fourth person said.

Several users highlighted how the Japanese celebrity was shaking dirt out of his glove, while many were more interested in vulgаr implementations during the festivities.
One user commented, “Really confused as to whether you think he was doing something crаzy or just trolling.” “He was shaking the dirt from the slide out of his glove.”
Ohtani went 2-for-2 on the night after hitting a game-tying RBI single to center field during his subsequent at-bat.
The two-time AL MVP made a strong impression on the Dodgers in December, earning a massive 10-year, $700 million contract that made him a strong contender for NL MVP this year.
Ohtani is now batting after relocating to Orange County from the Angels.318 with a 1.039 OPS, 5.2 WаR, 66 RBI, 22 stolen bases, and 28 home runs so far this season.
Before the game, the Dodgers had a 55-37 record.
