Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers suffered the heartbreak of a lifetime as they lost in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final, despite coming level from a 3-0 deficit. The Oilers captain recently sent a heartfelt message to the Oilers faithful on his Instagram this offseason.
On Tuesday, Connor McDavid shared a carousel of pictures from their 2023-24 season, including snaps of a full Rogers Arena brimming with orange and blue. In the caption, McDavid thanked the ‘best fans in the league.’
“A lot of highs and lows this season. Truly a learning experience. Thank you #OilCountry for sticking with us to the end. We have the best fans in the league. Keep believing and I can’t wait to get back to work next season 🧡💙,” Connor McDavid wrote on his Instagram.
The Oilers captain called their season a ‘learning experience and expressed his gratitude to the fans for their support. He encouraged them to keep believing in the team and shared his eagerness to return and start preparing for the next season.
Connor McDavid had a stellar campaign with the Oilers on an individual level. He notched up 132 points in the regular season and a massive 42 points in the playoffs. McDavid was named the Conn Smythe MVP for his solid display throughout the postseason.
