A video was posted on the X platform by the Blackhawks showing captain Nick Foligno with his leadership qualities pumping up his team after they defeated the Ducks.

In the video, Foligno describes how the team came together to finish off their road trip and that their effort against the ducks was far better than even the Los Angeles Kings where they had won 4-3 in a shootout. He went around the room and described what several players had contributed to this game but in the end he gave the gold chain which many teams do at the end of games for moral support was to goaltender Arvid Soderblom.

Soderblom gave a spectacular performance as he faced 39 shots and stopped 37 which gave him a save percentage of .949. This led the Blackhawks to win the game 4-2 and help the Blackhawks established a two game-winning streak after they had clamored a four-game losing streak together.

Foligno Has shown his leadership qualities as he was a captain previously when he was playing for the Columbus Blue Jackets. Some felt that it was time for Connor Bedard to receive the captaincy, but I believe it was the right choice to give it to Foligno as Bedard is continuing to learn how to be in the NHL as a teenager and understanding what NHL leadership takes.

Bedard is receiving great mentorship between Taylor Hall and Foligno which will pave the way for Bedard to take over the captaincy when the time is right. In the meantime, the Blackhawks will enjoy what Foligno brings to the dressing room and hopefully more success on the ice.
