With the No. 1 picks of the 2023 and 2024 WNBA draft, the Indiana Fever added Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston to their young core. After helping the franchise end its playoff drought, the two young prospects are battling it out off the basketball court.
Earlier this week, footage surfaced of Clark and Boston partaking in a water gun game that appears to be on a boardwalk. In the video, one could see Clark getting upset after Boston managed to beat her.
In the offseason, Caitlin Clark is clearly making it a priority to spend some quality time with all of her teammates. Last month, she and Lexie Hull were spotted together numerous times.
She took home Rookie of the Year in 2023 and has been named an All-Star in each of her first two seasons.
Boston played in all 40 games in the regular season and posted averages of 14.0 points, 8.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.2 blocks.
In their first year together, Clark and Boston were able to get Indiana to playoffs for the first time in eight years. Looking ahead to the future, it looks like the Fever have found their main pillars of the franchise.
Unrivaled league reportedly preparing massive offer to land Caitlin Clark
Unlike their NBA counterparts, WNBA players compete year-round due to the sizable differences in pay. Instead of having to go overseas, Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier launched the “Unrivaled” league in 2024.
The 3-on-3 league will kick off its inaugural season in January of 2025 in Miami.
Stewart and Collier have collected a strong group of players to compete in the league, and Caitlin Clark appears to be one of their top targets now.
Reports emerged on Wednesday that they are preparing a sizable offer to land the Fever guard.
“Clark was just named the fourth-most-marketable athlete in the world by SportsPro in London. With her stardom and broad appeal in mind, the start-up league is poised to offer Clark everything from a salary possibly exceeding $1 million for less than three months of work, to equity and revenue sharing, sources say.
“Similar to the “Messi Effect” on MLS, Unrivaled hopes a “Caitlin Clark Effect” would drive ticket sales and ratings for TV partner TNT Sports, while attracting blue-chip advertisers,”via front office sports.
When the Fever got eliminated from the playoffs, Caitlin Clark stated that she didn’t plan on going overseas to play in the offseason.
