At the conclusion of last season, Ipswich Town secured promotion to the English Premier League for the first time in 22 years, and the modest club continues to conduct an impressive transfer campaign.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the “Tractor Boys” have agreed on yet another signing. Sunderland’s winger Jake Clarke is set to join Ipswich for a fee of £20 million. The Premier League newcomer will complete the transfer as Clarke arrives in Ipswich today for a medical and contract signing.

In last season’s Championship season, Clarke contributed 15 goals and 4 assists in 40 games.

Earlier, Ipswich made headlines by purchasing attacking midfielder Omari Hutchinson from Chelsea for a club-record €23.5 million. They also acquired center-back Jacob Greaves from Hull City and young forward Liam Delap from Manchester City. However, the most significant addition is the loan signing of England international midfielder Kalvin Phillips from Man City.

It’s worth noting that this month, famous British singer Ed Sheeran became a co-owner of Ipswich Town, having purchased a stake in the club he has supported since childhood.

In the Premier League’s opening round, Ipswich fell to Liverpool 0-2, and they now face a daunting trip to Manchester City in the second round.
