REPORT: Diana Taurasi Criticizes and Demands Brittney Griner BE FIRED FROM TEAM ‘She makes people not want to watch the team anymore, affects the whole team’

The relationship between WNBA stars Diana Taurasi and Brittney Griner has become a focal point of recent discussions in women’s basketball, particularly around the Phoenix Mercury and Team USA. Reports suggest that Taurasi, a seasoned veteran, has voiced concerns about Griner’s impact on the team dynamics. The crux of the issue revolves around Griner’s off-court controversies and on-court performance, which some believe are detracting from the team’s cohesion and public image.

Diana Taurasi has reportedly expressed frustration with Brittney Griner, suggesting that her presence might be negatively affecting the team’s chemistry and fan engagement. This sentiment comes amidst a backdrop of complex team dynamics and heightened media scrutiny. Critics argue that Griner’s recent struggles, both personal and professional, have overshadowed the team’s collective efforts, potentially alienating fans and creating a distraction within the locker room.

Griner’s situation is complicated by her recent experiences, including legal issues and personal challenges, which have undoubtedly impacted her performance and public perception. Taurasi’s comments reflect a broader concern about maintaining a focused and united team, especially with the high stakes of professional and international competitions. The Mercury, a team that has long been a powerhouse in the WNBA, is now facing the challenge of balancing the need for strong leadership and supportive team culture with the realities of managing diverse personalities and experiences.

The implications of Taurasi’s stance are significant. Her call for Griner’s removal, if substantiated, could signal a major shift in the team’s composition and strategy. It also raises questions about the leadership roles within the team and how veteran players like Taurasi navigate their influence in shaping the team’s direction. Moreover, the potential fallout from such a decision could extend beyond the court, affecting the players’ relationships and the organization’s overall reputation.

This situation also highlights the broader challenges faced by professional athletes in the public eye, where personal issues can quickly become intertwined with professional responsibilities. For Griner, the scrutiny and pressure are compounded by her high-profile status and the expectations that come with it. Her ability to navigate these challenges and regain focus will be crucial in determining her future with the team.

Taurasi, known for her competitiveness and leadership, seems to be advocating for a more disciplined and focused approach, prioritizing team cohesion and performance over individual considerations. This perspective underscores the often difficult decisions teams must make to ensure long-term success and stability. The conversation surrounding Taurasi and Griner is a microcosm of the broader issues in professional sports, where the balance between personal freedom and professional expectations is constantly negotiated. As the WNBA and its teams continue to evolve, these discussions will likely shape the future of the league and its players. In conclusion, the tension between Diana Taurasi and Brittney Griner reflects deeper issues within the Phoenix Mercury and the sports world at large. The outcome of this situation will be a critical test for the team, potentially setting a precedent for how such conflicts are managed in the future. As the story develops, it will be important to watch how both players and the organization respond, and what this means for the dynamics of professional basketball moving forward.

Michael Phelps has had enough and has doubled down on his support for tougher sanctions for doping.

The World Anti-Doping Agency and World Aquatics have acknowledged that 23 Chinese swimmers tested positive for a banned substance before the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, but the results were not made public until media reports surfaced in 2024.

The Chinese explanation of tainted food was accepted as a reason for the positive tests.

Nine of those swimmers ended up winning medals, with many as part of relay teams in Paris.

Michael Phelps reiterated his sentiments when he stated the Chinese swimmers who tested positive should not have been allowed to compete in Tokyo, Paris, or anywhere else.

“If you test positive, you should never be allowed to come back and compete again, cut and dry,” Phelps said. “I believe one and done,” he said, per The AP.

Phelps continued: “If everybody is not going through that same testing, I have a serious problem because it means the level of sport is not fair, and it’s not even,” he said. “If you’re taking that risk, then you don’t belong in here.”

Phelps also talked about when he was at his peak, and many accused him of doping, so he took it a step further and did even more testing.

“People called me a cheater throughout my career,” he said on Monday. “I subjected myself to do more testing – blood and urine – weekly. Why? For the reason that I could say I’m not cheating and I am clean and here are the results. I did it the clean way. I won 23 Olympic gold medals the clean way. It can be done.”

Since retiring from the sport after the 2016 Olympics, Phelps has become more outspoken about anti-doping issues.

“What has to happen is everybody has to come together and figure out one way to test everybody all over the world. Period,” Phelps said. “And if you test positive, you should never be allowed to come back and compete again.”

In conclusion, Phelps said he understands the frustration of athletes who pour in so much work only to lose medals to a person or team who may be cheating.

“It does break my heart to see people put hard effort into four straight years to prepare for an Olympic Games, then to have it taken away from them by somebody who is cheating,” Phelps said. “It’s not right. I stand for that, and I will always stand for that.”

Michael Phelps Believes Competitors Were Cheating During His Time In The Pool

Michael Phelps never cheated to accomplish his goals, so when news of 23 Chinese swimmers testing positive came out, he took a strong stance on it.

He even took it further when he stated some competitors were doping during his five Olympics, in which he won 28 medals overall.

“I don’t think I ever competed in an even playing field or a clean field,” he said. “I have some speculations of some athletes that I competed against that I thought they were [doping]. But that’s out of my control.”

Simone Biles has offered a response to the criticism stemming from her decision to bow to Rebeca Andrade following their floor final at the Olympic Games on Monday.

Baltimore Ravens star Marlon Humphrey lashed out at Biles because she opted to celebrate the Brazilian on the podium after she came back from multiple ACL tears to win Olympic gold.

“This is literally disgusting,” the cornerback wrote in response to a tweet from SportsCenter showing the moment Biles and teammate Jordan Chiles honored Andrade. The Americans came second and third, respectively, with the Brazilian winning her first gold in Paris on the back of three ACL tears.

Biles has since defended her decision to bow to her South American counterpart.

“I think it’s all about sportsmanship, and we don’t care whether we win or lose,” she said on the ‘TODAY’ show this Tuesday (H/T the Daily Mail). “We’re always going to keep a good face and support our competitors because they’ve worked just as hard as we have for that moment.

“You have to give them their flowers and that’s exactly what me and Jordan were doing. We were so happy for her. She deserved it, she had the best floor routine of the day, and of the Olympics.”

Marlon Humphrey didn’t get anyone to agree with him on social media either.

“Yeah, because giving someone their flowers who has come back from THREE ACL tears to continue to be a top gymnast is disgusting,” one fan replied.

“God forbid athletes show respect to a fellow athlete who has suffered a torn ACL multiple times,” another said.

“Man shut up you nfl guys d ride players from rivals all the time,” someone else wrote.

“Sportsmanship disgusts you?” asked another.

Humphrey later tweeted that he was “getting cooked” by Brazilians on social media, though it appears he wasn’t aware of their native language.

Meanwhile, Simone Biles had plenty of praise for Rebeca Andrade during her interview, claiming the Brazilian kept her on her toes throughout the competition.

“I’ve never had an athlete so close,” she said. “This definitely kept me alert and brought out the best athlete in me. So I’m excited and proud to compete with her.

“I’ve never been so stressed before. Thank you, Rebeca.”

Biles won three gold medals and one silver in a remarkable Olympic campaign that saw her become the most decorated American female gymnast in history.
