Two NHL teams reportedly eyeing Evander Kane trade with the Edmonton Oilers
Despite a challenging season that ended with a lot of uncertainty surrounding his health, the ever-controversial forward Evander Kane still generates some interest in the NHL trade market.
Currently set to start the third season of his 4-year, $5,125,000 AAV contract with the Oilers, Kane seems to have his eyes set on finishing his deal in Edmonton.
This development comes from the 2 Mutts Hockey Podcast, who wrote in a publication on X that Kane has no interest in waiving his no-move clause for the moment, and has even invested in staying in Edmonton for at least the next two years.
They added that both the Anaheim Ducks and the Los Angeles Kings have shown interest in him on the trade market, but he wants to be a member of the Oilers.
Finally, they revealed that despite his injuries, he should be ready at the start of the training camp in September.
In their own words:
Players who reach the Stanley Cup Finals are often targeted by other teams. Not only because they showed that they have what it takes to win, but they have the experience to help their teammates go through the pressure of NHL playoffs.
However, players want to win, and Kane currently has great odds in Edmonton. If he wants to get his name on the Stanley Cup, staying with the Oilers is a smart move.
If he comes back at 100% in October, he could be in a great position to beat his personal record of 56 points in a season, a feat he achieved with the San Jose Sharks in 2018-19.
