It was a historic night at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles as LeBron James and his son Bronny James etched themselves in NBA history. They became the first father-son duo to play together in a regular season game. The James family’s special moment was further sweetened by the Lakers’ emphatic 110-103 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves, tipping off their season in the best possible way.

LeBron’s family, including his wife Savannah, daughter Zhuri and son Bryce, were all present to witness history unfold at the iconic arena. Seated among thousands of Lakers fans, Savannah, Zhuri, and Bryce cheered on as LeBron and Bronny shared the court for the first time, playing together in the second quarter.

Before the game, Bryce James was filled with excitement as he watched his brother Bronny prepare for his official NBA debut. From the stands, Bryce captured a video of Bronny in Lakers training gear and shared a one-word reaction, expressing his hype for the moment.

After the game, LeBron and Bronny shared a heartfelt moment with their family, embracing Savannah in a warm hug in the tunnel before heading inside the Lakers locker room.

How did LeBron and Bronny fare vs. Timberwolves?

After the final whistle, LeBron James and Bronny James reflected on the historic moment of becoming the first father-son duo to play together in an NBA game. LeBron emphasized the significance of family, while Bronny expressed that checking into the game alongside his father is a memory that will remain forever etched in his mind.

In terms of their performance on the court, LeBron contributed to the Lakers’ successful season opener while Bronny struggled to make an impact. The former USC guard saw just 2:41 of playing time, missing both of his field goal attempts, including one from beyond the arc.

LeBron himself didn’t have a standout performance but played his role effectively, as Anthony Davis led the Lakers with a dominant all-around showing. The four-time NBA champion finished with 16 points on 7-of-16 shooting, including 1-of-6 from three-point range, along with five rebounds, four assists and two blocks in 34:39 minutes.

The Lakers’ next challenge is a high-profile face off against the Kevin Durant-led Phoenix Suns. It will be interesting to see if LeBron and Bronny will have another opportunity to share the court in such a marquee game.
