Former big leaguer Trevor Bauer has grown quite a large following on social media over the years, boasting over 764,000 followers on Instagram and over 911,000 subscribers on YouTube. On Saturday, the 35-year-old posted the latest part of his ongoing ‘baseball battle’ against Eric Sim, also known as the “King of Juco.”

Sim walked up to bat against the former Cy Young award winner in this one. Bauer had to quickly get used to pitching without a catcher to guide him, with his regular catcher Austin Shumaker having to sit this one out after suffering a hit as a pitch looped off Sim’s bat. Shumaker faced the infamous ‘worst pain in baseball’ as the ball hit him between the legs.

On the field, the 2024 season was quite a success for Bauer, as he won the Mexican League with the Diablos Rojos del México. The former MLB All-Star set a franchise record with 19 strikeouts in a game, going on to win the Pitcher of the Year award.

Trevor Bauer showcases his talents with the bat, hits a perfect bunt against Eric Sim AKA King of Juco

In a video posted on Thursday, former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer demonstrated that he was not too bad at holding a bat. Facing Eric Sim, Bauer hit a ‘perfect bunt’ on the very first pitch.

Unfortunately for Bauer, though, the HitTrax software in use did not count the bunt as a hit. He attempted the same technique when facing the next pitch, but this time, Sim was quicker off the mound.

This video was only one of the many in the ‘competition’ between Bauer and Sim. While it’s unclear what the pair are battling for, fans get to enjoy the hilarious exchanges between the two.
