London – “Many Potter fans were grateful that I said what I said!” JK Rowling (57) still stands by her statements on transgender issues. And not only that: The ” Harry Potter ” author is also convinced that she has spoken from the heart of many of her fans.

When you look at JK Rowling’s Twitter profile, you might sometimes forget that she is actually a writer. Not just any writer – but the most financially successful writer of all time!

But for years, she has presented herself on social media primarily as a feminist and anti-trans activist. She uses her gigantic platform to educate people about the supposed “danger” of the transgender “movement” (as she calls it).

“I knew, of course, that many people who loved my books would be deeply unhappy with me if I said it,” the 57-year-old said in the latest episode of the podcast ” The Witch Trials of JK Rowling ” about her first anti-trans tweets almost three years ago.

JK Rowling (57) angered countless fans with her statements.

Many fans had criticized her harshly. “But at the same time, I have to say that a lot of Potter fans were still with me. And in fact, a lot of Potter fans were grateful that I said what I said.”

The Briton also explained that she had no remorse for her comments, but would stand by every word she said. “I argue against people who literally say that gender is a construct, it’s not real.”

Many actors from the popular “Harry Potter” film series have now publicly turned against the author, including Emma Watson (32), Rupert Grint (34) and Eddie Redmayne (41). Lead actor Daniel Radcliffe (33) once emphasized: “Transgender women are women.”

He said: “Any statement to the contrary erases the identity and dignity of transgender people and goes against all advice from professional health bodies who have far more expertise on this issue than Jo [Rowling, ed.] or I.”
