Travis Kelce has reportedly made a vow to Taylor Swift’s family to be her protector, with a source telling Mirror Online that the NFL ace is seen as a ‘built-in bodyguard’.
Swift’s loved ones are apparently over the moon about her year-long romance with Kansas City Chiefs star Kelce, as their relationship continues to prosper. The news comes after a foiled terrorist attack at a concert set to take place in Vienna.
A confidant spilled the beans to the Daily Mail : “Taylor’s family and everyone who knows her is so relieved by her relationship with Travis not only because she is madly in love but also because he makes her security personnel job much easier. No one will try to come close to her when she is holding hands with her powerhouse boyfriend.”
On his ‘New Heights’ podcast, which he co-hosts with brother Jason Kelce, Travis has candidly spoken about his instinct to shield Taylor, particularly recalling their initial dates in the Big Apple that caught the media’s attention last year.
Travis expressed: “I feel like whenever I’m on a date, I’m always having the sense that I’m a man in the situation. I’m protective, yeah, for sure. You always have to have that feeling or self-awareness, I guess.”
Page Six had even reported a few months into their relationship that Kelce had sought the blessing of Taylor’s dad to propose. Now, insiders claim that an engagement between the two could be just around the corner.
The lovebirds made their relationship public at a Kansas City Chiefs game last season, where Swift was spotted in the stands alongside Kelce’s mother. The pop star showed her dedication by attending 13 NFL games during the 2023 season, even taking a 13-hour flight from Tokyo to pause her tour and watch Kelce win the Super Bowl.
Kelce has been equally supportive, travelling around the globe to see Swift perform in South America, Australia and various European countries during her Eras tour. However, the couple have recently spent some time apart as Swift continues her tour in Europe and Kelce returns to training camp with the Chiefs.
Swift is set to wrap up the European leg of her tour in the next fortnight, and it’s believed she plans to jet straight to Kansas City to reunite with Travis.
