Yen Santos Breaks Her Silence on Rumors Linking Her to Chavit Singson and Alleged Child

Yen Santos breaks silence on ex-BF, sorry for hurting others

For the first time, actress Yen Santos has directly addressed the persistent rumor claiming that she and businessman-politician Luis “Chavit” Singson have a child together. The long-standing speculation, which has circulated for years on social media, particularly resurfaced recently, prompting Yen to finally set the record straight through her newly launched YouTube vlog.

In the first episode of her vlog titled “Questions I Am Desperate to Answer,” released on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 23, 2025, Yen took time to respond to some of the most controversial and pressing issues that have hounded her throughout her career. Among the questions posed by her own team was the claim that she secretly shares a child with the former Ilocos Sur governor.

Yen responded with composure and clarity, dispelling the rumor once and for all. She explained that the boy being linked to her and Chavit Singson is not their son but actually her youngest brother. According to Yen, the child in question is the youngest among three siblings in her family, and the assumption that he is her son with the veteran politician is simply unfounded.

“Okay. That rumor about me and Manong Chavit having a child together… Guys, that’s not our child. That’s my younger brother,” she said, addressing the camera. “We are three siblings, and he is the youngest.”

Yen added that while she often comes across these rumors on platforms like TikTok and other social media sites, she typically does not engage or correct them publicly. However, since the question was directly brought up in her vlog, she felt it was time to clarify the truth.

“I usually don’t like correcting people online,” she said, “but since you asked, that’s really the truth. I see these rumors spreading online, people saying our ‘child’ is already grown up. Yes, he’s eleven years old now—but again, he’s not my child. He’s my brother.”

The actress also pointed out that Chavit Singson is actually a good friend of their family and is even the godfather of her younger brother. This may have contributed to the confusion, but Yen emphasized that there is nothing more to their relationship than a long-standing family friendship.

“It’s funny, because he’s a good family friend. He’s my brother’s godfather. But no, he’s not our child. Okay? He’s my brother,” she reiterated with a laugh, clearly trying to bring some levity to the situation.

Yen recalled that the rumor has been trailing her since she started her career in showbiz. At that time, being new to the industry, she admitted that she struggled to navigate such baseless gossip and wasn’t sure how to defend herself or whether she even should.

“When I was just starting out in showbiz, that was already an issue thrown at me,” she said. “At the time, I didn’t know how to handle it. Should I speak up? Should I defend myself? But then again, he really is my brother. That’s the truth.”

She admitted that it hurt her deeply, especially because her younger sibling—just a child then—was being dragged into a scandalous rumor that had no basis in fact. “At first, I was really hurt. It was painful because even a young child was being dragged into something untrue,” Yen said, expressing her concern over how misinformation can harm innocent people.

To put a more positive spin on the situation, Yen even suggested to her team that perhaps they should do a vlog featuring Chavit Singson himself, so he could personally confirm the truth. “Maybe we should do a vlog with Manong Chavit too,” she said with a smile. “So he can also say, ‘We don’t have a child together.’ That boy is my brother, and I love him very much. My brother, okay?”

Aside from tackling the rumor involving Singson, Yen also opened up about other aspects of her personal life in her vlog, including her past relationships. While she did not name names, it is known to the public that her most recent relationship was with actor Paolo Contis.

The debut of Yen’s vlog marks a turning point in how she addresses controversies that have followed her for years. Her candid and composed manner, along with her willingness to engage with sensitive topics, has already garnered positive reactions from fans who have long been curious about her side of the story. Through her own platform, Yen seems ready to take control of her narrative and speak directly to the people who have supported her journey.
