Love, indeed, moves in mysterious ways.

Jackson Dognini and Lais Dognini devoted years to preparing for their respective vocations, which did not include getting married. But destiny paved the way for their paths to cross.

Hinangad ng dalawang tao na mamuhay nang single at ialay ang kanilang buhay sa Panginoon.

Yun pala, sila ang nakatadhana para sa isa’t isa. Ito ang love story ng isang couple mula sa Brazil.

Si Lais Dognini ay naghahanda noon para maging madre, habang si Jackson Dognini ay nagpaplanong magpari.

Si Lais ay two years naging Carmelite sister, nagsuot na siya ng habito, at kalaunan ay naging novice.

Si Jackson ay isang Philosophy professor na limang taong nanatili sa seminaryo,

“Unlikely, but not impossible: this is our story!” bungad ni Lais sa naka-pin niyang Instagram post tungkol sa pambihirang love story nila ni Jackson. Ipinost iyon ni Lais noong June 19, 2025.

Hindi raw inakala ni Lais na magkakatuluyan sila dahil wala ang salitang pag-aasawa sa napili nilang bokasyon.

“He wanted to be a priest and went to the seminary; I wanted to be a nun and went to the convent,” ani Lais.

“We’ve known each other for over 6 years, when I was still a missionary, but we’d never spoken, not even a ‘hi’ to each other.”

Initially, Jackson Dognini and Lais Dognini chose their respective vocation devoid of the privilege of wedding. But fate has other things in store for them.

Habang nasa kumbento, na-diagnose raw si Lais na may dysthymia, isang uri ng mild depression.

Kinailangan niyang iwan ang kumbento para alagaan ang kanyang sarili.

Nabalitaan daw ito ni Jackson at nakipag-ugnayan kay Lais.

Ani Lais [published as is], “So right after I left, he sent me a message saying he heard I’d gone to the convent, that he was sorry I was leaving, and that he was praying for me.

“His intention was to make me change my mind and return to Carmel, little did he know that I didn’t even want to leave.”

Makalipas daw ang ilang buwan, nagkrus ang kanilang mga landas.

“A few months later, we subscribed to my Catholic library together, because I didn’t even have the money to pay the monthly subscription at that time,” ani Lais.

Lumipas ang ilang taon at napagtanto naman daw ni Jackson na hindi para sa kanya ang pagpapari. Nagkaroon daw siya ng discernment para rito.

Umalis sa seminaryo si Jackson makalipas ang dalawang taon.

Nagkita silang muli ni Lais at doon sumibol ang pag-ibig.

Sabi ni Lais: “[H]e began to realize that that wasn’t his calling and prayed a lot to discern what he should do (let it be clear that I have nothing to do with this, okay!!!).

“He told me what he was going through, and I started praying more for him, until… In April of last year he left for good, and we made plans to go to a mass together.

“Since then, we haven’t been apart and soon started dating, got engaged, and married.”

Ani Lais, ganito ang naging takbo ng love story nila: “six months of dating and 4 months of engagement.”

Sa post ni Lais noong September 10, 2025, napagtanto raw niyang iba pala ang plano ng Panginoon para sa kanya.

Sa una kasi, ang akala niya ay nakatadhana siyang magmadre.

“It’s been over a year trying to understand what God wanted from me and why he allowed me to leave the life I chose to live,” post ni Lais.

“And after 4 years, I finally understand and can say without a doubt, that God has infinitely better plans than ours!”

Lubos-lubos daw ang kasiyahan ng puso nila ni Jackson sa kanilang pagkakatuluyan.
