Post Malone has said that it “must suck” to have the same levels of fame as Taylor Swift or Beyoncé.

The rapper, singer and songwriter – who has collaborated with both of the pop stars in the past – has revealed in a new interview that he wouldn’t want to take on the same degree of fame as he has seen with them both.

The topic arose during a new interview with The New York Times, where he looked back at his time collaborating with them both on their 2024 album releases.

He worked with Swift as part of her huge album ‘The Tortured Poets Department’, featuring alongside her on the song ‘Fortnight’. During the shooting of the music video, he recalled, the singer had to be fully concealed in order to move around the set without being spotted by paparazzi.

“I can’t even imagine being at their level – it must suck,” Posty, whose real name is Austin Richard Post, told the outlet. He added that Swift needed “an umbrella and drapes over the golf cart so drones and a helicopter couldn’t get footage”.

“That’s so much pressure,” he added, going on to explain how a similar degree of security was needed when he went to meet up with Beyoncé ahead of their collaborative track ‘LEVII’S JEANS’.

Discussing their time working on the track, the musician revealed that he never met Bey in person, but was instead met by a representative from her team, who sent the track to him at his Utah compound, before the pair discussed the plans via text.

“It was terrifying,” he said, going on to say that he felt “just honoured to be in these people’s vicinity.”

Posty has sung the praises of both artists in the past – both thanking Beyoncé for letting him feature on ‘Cowboy Carter’ and describing the album as “beautiful”, and telling fans that he was “floored” by the opportunity to collaborate with Swift on ‘TTPD’.

“It’s once in a lifetime that someone like @taylorswift comes into this world,” he wrote shortly after the release of the latter. “I am floored by your heart and your mind, and I am beyond honoured to have been asked to help you with your journey. I love you so much. Thank you Tay.

More recently, Malone announced the full tracklist for his new album ‘F-1 Trillion’, confirming it will see guest appearances from the likes of Dolly Parton, Tim McGraw and more.

The country-inspired sixth studio record is set to arrive on Friday (August 16), you can pre-order/pre-save it here. So far, Posty has already previewed the project with ‘Pour Me A Drink’ (feat. Blake Shelton), ‘I Had Some Help’ (feat. Morgan Wallen) and ‘Guy For That’ (feat. Luke Combs).

In May, he also debuted ‘Never Love You Again’ while performing at the Country Music Awards, and just last week he opened up about the impact his daughter has had on his life, particularly when he was on a “rough path”.
