Mika Salamanca donates PHP1M PBB prize to orphanage
Big winner, indeed!
Mika Salamanca is gaining recognition as the ‘Big Winner with a Big Heart’ after donating her entire PHP 1-million prize from Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition to a children’s orphanage in Pampanga.

Fresh from her win in Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition, Mika Salamanca has donated her entire PHP 1-million prize to an orphanage close to her heart.
Mika chose Duyan ni Maria Children’s Home and Orphanage, a decades-old institution based in Mabalacat, Pampanga, which provides safe housing, food, clothing, health care, and education to abandoned, abused, and neglected children.
In an interview with GMA Entertainment, Mika considered her victory a “miracle” made possible by the people who voted for her and Brent Manalo.
She said: “To be honest po, wala naman po talaga sa list ko gawin sa Bahay ni Kuya ang pagiging Big Winner.
“Pero in my head, if a miracle happens and manalo dahil sa taong bayan, I want to give the winnings kasi, for me, to feel like I actually deserve it, I want to give it back to the people who put me here in the first place.

“That’s what I think a Big Winner should do.”
Why Duyan ni Maria?
The Kapuso star replied: “Una sa lahat, kami po ni Brent ay parehas Kapampangan, and based po si Duyan ni Maria in Pampanga.
“Also, what me and Brent really value is education, and we see na si Duyan ni Maria, they make sure the children under their care receive a level of education na makakatulong sa kanila in the future.”
In addition, Mika also visited a community for elderly residents “to extend her gratitude and compassion.”
Her talent agency Sparkle GMA Artist Center posted photos on social media yesterday, July 12, 2024, with the caption:
“After donating her entire PHP1M prize to ‘Duyan ni Maria’ orphanage, #PBBCelebrityCollabEdition Big Winner Mika Salamanca continued her outreach by visiting a community of elderly residents to extend her gratitude and compassion.”

MIKA’S PBB WIN
Mika and Brent were declared the new Big Winners of PBB on July 5, with each receiving a PHP1-million cash prize.

During the show’s grand finale on July 5 at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City, the pair secured 33.03% of the total combined votes.
Meanwhile, Ralph de Leon and Will Ashley finished as the Second Big Placer, followed by Charlie Fleming and Esnyr in third place, and AZ Martinez and River Joseph in fourth.
