Team USA, on Saturday, wrapped up the Paris Olympics with a 98-87 victory, securing their fifth consecutive gold medal at the Summer Olympics. Among the players celebrating this historic win was Tyrese Haliburton, who earned his first-ever Olympic gold medal.

However, Haliburton humorously acknowledged that his role in the team’s success was less prominent. After receiving his gold medal, the Indiana Pacers star took to social media to share a lighthearted, self-mocking tweet.
“When you ain’t do nun on the group project and still get an A,” he wrote on X.
The humorous post quickly gained traction, even catching the attention of Elon Musk, the owner of X. Musk replied with a laughing emoji in the Pacers star’s tweet.
While Haliburton’s tweet was a playful jab at himself, fans responded with praise rather than criticism. Many admired his honesty and appreciated the humor he brought to the victory celebration.
Instead of backlash, Haliburton’s tweet seemed to win him more fans, with people enjoying his down-to-earth and relatable reaction to winning gold.
Interestingly, some fans even drew comparisons between Haliburton’s lighthearted approach and the recent controversy surrounding Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum. Tatum’s limited playtime during the Olympics sparked frustration, including an angry response from his mother. On the other hand, Haliburton chose to take his limited role in stride, winning over fans with his calm and humorous attitude.
Team USA’s Star-Studded Roster Leads to Limited Minutes for Haliburton
During the Paris Olympics, Tyrese Haliburton took on the role of Team USA’s 12th man. Despite his limited involvement, he never publicly expressed dissatisfaction with his role.
Haliburton appeared in only three games, totaling 26 minutes, and contributed eight points throughout the tournament.
While Haliburton saw minimal action, the final game against Team France highlighted the performances of other stars. Stephen Curry led the charge, scoring 24 points and hitting eight three-pointers, three of which came in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter.
Alongside Curry, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker added 15 points each, helping secure Team USA’s victory and Haliburton’s first Olympic gold medal, even though he didn’t step on the court in the final.
