Chris Brown tuyên bố Giải thưởng âm nhạc Mỹ đã hủy bỏ buổi biểu diễn của anh với Michael Jackson

Chris Brown has announced that he was scheduled to perform a tribute to Michael Jackson at the American Music Awards this weekend – but cancelled at the last minute.

The 33-year-old singer said he was not given a reason for the decision.

He posted a lengthy workout video to his Instagram, in which he can be seen performing some moves that are clearly modelled after Michael Jackson.

“It was supposed to be an AMA performance, but they canceled my performance for no apparent reason,” he said in the comments.

His caption simply read: ‘Are you serious?’

The footage he posted shows a group of backup dancers surrounding him as he practices their intricate choreography.

They performed a dance routine that included Michael’s hits: Beat It, Billie Jean, Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’ and Thriller.

All four songs were from Michael’s legendary 1982 album Thriller, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this month.

In recent years, however, Michael’s legacy has been overshadowed by renewed allegations of child sexual abuse, particularly after two of his accusers appeared in the 2019 HBO documentary Leaving Neverland.

In 2009, four years into his rise to fame, Chris abused his then-girlfriend, singer Rihanna, to the point that she was hospitalized.

That year, Michael died at the age of 50 of a heart attack after taking propofol as a sleep aid.

A year later, Chris performed a tribute to Michael Jackson at the BET Awards, where he was also nominated for “Best Male Artist” in the R&B/pop category.
