Dylan Holloway has been huge for the St. Louis Blues this season, but on Tuesday night, he left the game after suffering a serious injury.
On the ice, there are many ways that a player can be injured whether it be from a stick, a skate or an opposing player, but on Tuesday we saw Dylan Holloway deal with one of the worst ways to be injured, taking a brutal puck to the body. During a matchup with the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Blues Holloway took a puck to the neck before finishing his shift, but after that, he was stretchered away from the bench after the medical staff helped stabilize him.
While the play didn’t look like it was much, it clearly effected the young star, as he was quickly helped away from the bench following the brutal puck to the neck, with many in the arena worried about his health.
After this, the Blues updated the situation, revealing that the final 1:11 of game time remaining in the first period would be played in the second period, giving the fans and the players a moment to catch their breath after a brutal injury.
According to another update, Holloway has been put in an ambulance and quickly rushed to the nearest hospital, with updates on his situation too early to get right now.
Ultimately, every player knows the risk they are taking when they get on the ice, but it’s still tough to see a player who is simply looking to make a play for his team deal with such a scary situation, so we wish the best for Holloway and hope that whatever his situation, he can get back to 100% and back on the ice as soon as humanly possible.
