Barstool CEO Dave Portnoy is a lucky man.

He took to social media this week to reveal he was almost “lost to the ocean” and had to be rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard.

On Monday, the 47-year-old took to X (formerly Twitter) to speak on his frightening experience of how he was “almost was lost to the ocean” after his boat lost power and was drifting slowly out to sea near Nantucket.

In the video he posted, Dave Portnoy, who repeatedly referred to himself as “Captain Dave”, stated he had unhooked his boat from its buoy and began floating away from the harbor with zero control.

Portnoy said he had, “No power, no radio, no anchor, no nothing; heavy, heavy winds.”

“Next thing you know, Captain Dave is lost at sea.”

Dave Portnoy added that he was trying not to crash into other boats in the harbor and fired a flare gun as a distress signal. He stated he began screaming when “some girl in what looks like a rowboat” was able to board his boat and use her radio to call the Coast Guard.

“Captain Dave almost was lost to the ocean,” said Portnoy, who thanked the Coast Guard “for saving my life.”

He further revealed that the girl also asked him to make a TikTok with him, to which he responded, “No time for TikToks.”

In the meantime, Coast Guard officials came out to the scene and were able to bring him back to safety.

“Thankfully, the Coast Guard, God bless their souls, tied me up, brings me back — Captain Dave lives to tell another tale,” he shared.

Coast Guard representatives told NBC 10 Boston that several members of their team did rescue Dave Portnoy after an incident involving his boat drifting out to sea.

The U.S. Coast Guard’s Northeast division would further add to the story by quoate tweeting his post and confirm his story.

“You’re welcome, Dave. Tell Miss Peaches we said hi, and remember to boat safe! #SemperParatus,” they wrote, referencing Portnoy’s dog, Miss Peaches, who has more than 1 million Instagram followers.

Dave Portnoy Reacted to Donald Trump Shooting

Dave Portnoy proudly declared the U.S. presidential election to be over after a crazed man tried to assassinate former president Donald Trump.

The Barstool Sports founder says current U.S. President Joe Biden has no shot of beating the 78-year-old now, saying, “I just landed and missed an (assassination) attempt,” he wrote to his followers. “Holy —-. What a bad — reaction from Trump. The election is over. He’s the next President. The Dems should give up. They can’t beat him now.”

Trump ended up being hit in the ear by glass, while the shooter and a Trump supporter would end up dying.
