Taylor Swift looked content last night as she crooned a song about the story not being hers anymore

Taylor Swift has said “the story isn’t mine anymore” as she croons about her past relationships after Joe Alwyn spoke out about their split.

The hitmaker, 34, has been performing her Eras Tour in Liverpool this weekend, with last night marking her final show in the city before heading to Cardiff in the week. Performing for more than three hours, and crooning more than 45 hits, Taylor has been thrilling thousands of fans with her high-energy show.

During the show, Taylor performs an acoustic set that sees her sing rarely-played songs from her back catalogue, and songs that never made the setlist. And last night, after her ex Joe Alwyn spoke out about their split, Taylor looked happier than ever as she admitted “the story isn’t mine anymore”.

Mashing up The Manuscript with her 2012 hit Red, Taylor crooned: “The only thing that’s left is the manuscript / One last souvenir from my trip to your shores / Now and then I reread the manuscript / But the story isn’t mine anymore.”

Many fans think the songs were written about Jake Gyllenhaal after the pair’s brief romance when Taylor was 20 years of age. “If this isn’t our confirmation that The Manuscript is indeed about Jake Gyllenhaal then idk what is,” penned one person.

But others seemingly alluded to the mash-up hinting at Taylor moving on from her relationship with Joe Alwyn after he spoke out about their split for the first time over the weekend. One person gushed: “This is healing,” while another said: “her playing the manuscript today reminding everyone that the story is over.”

A third then added: “the manuscript is such a beautiful piece and a great choice, the story doesn’t belong to her or her ex partners anymore after she releases them to us, i just think it’s such a beautiful way to go back and revisit songs and the stories in a more mature and healthy way.”

Speaking to The Times this weekend, Taylor’s ex Joe said: “I would hope that anyone and everyone can empathise and understand the difficulties that come with the end of a long, loving, fully committed relationship of over six and a half years. That is a hard thing to navigate.”

He added: “What is unusual and abnormal in this situation is that, one week later it’s suddenly in the public domain and the outside world is able to weigh in.”

viagogo and resale tickets

Sites such as Viagogo and Vivid Seats allow fans to buy resale tickets from other fans. However, it is important to note that many event promoters say tickets should not be resold after initial purchase and will not be valid for admittance to gigs.

Fans attending live events with tickets acquired through resale websites are advised to double check the ticket terms and conditions at the point of sale – such as Ticketmaster or Live Nation – to ensure a smooth live event experience. Tickets could be voided if they were found to be bought second-hand. As a result, fans are buying at their own risk.

With that said, viagogo also commented: “viagogo is a regulated marketplace where fans have the guarantee.”
