The NBA offseason is often a great opportunity for the league’s stars to continue expanding their personal brands and off the court moves. Few basketball stars have more off the court involvements than Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry, who has several brands, partnerships, and charity organizations.
Many of Curry’s off the court endeavors are alongside his wife Ayesha Curry, who is the co-founder of the couple’s “Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation” nonprofit organization. While Steph and Ayesha stay busy, they are not the only Curry family members making moves this summer.
In an announcement on Instagram, Steph Curry’s mother Sonya Curry revealed that her new show “Raising Fame” is premiering on Sunday:
“It’s showtime, it’s premier day,” Sonya Curry said in her Instagram video. “Tonight, TV One… Raising Fame with Danielle Brooks and her lovely parents. Please show us, tag us, show us how you’re watching it. Whether alone, or you’re having a watch party, or even setting your DVR to record it. Either way, we would love to see all the support, because we promise you you are going to be blessed by this show.”
Both Steph and Ayesha Curry re-shared this announcement from Sonya on their Instagram stories, urging their followers to tune in:
This new show, hosted by Sonya Curry and Lucille O’Neal, highlights the parents of superstars and allows them to share their stories. The website for TV One shares background information on Sonya Curry and her involvement with the show, stating the following:
“You may know her face from cheering in the stands at some of the biggest basketball games, but Sonya Curry is much more than that. She’s an entrepreneur and founder of a NC school, grandmother to 9 children, and mom of three, including 10x NBA All-Star Steph Curry! Her latest journey on Raising Fame is giving the world a chance to be introduced to her as a woman. You don’t want to miss it premiering Sunday, July 7 at 10p/9c only on TV One!”
A very unique idea, “Raising Fame” sets out to share untold stories from parents of superstars.
