The pair called for urgent action to end violence against children in South America.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle admit 'we are at a crossroads' in latest video appearance

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stood firm as the Sussexes declared the world is “at a crossroads” when it comes to ending violence against children, in a rare dual appearance from the pair.

The Duke and Duchess have spent much of the second half of 2024 separated from each other on various tours and engagements as insiders whisper rumors of marital discontentment after six years wedlocked.

But if that’s true, it wasn’t on show at all when they delivered a video to the “United Nations Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children in Bogota, Colombia” assembly as they called for people to step up.

“We are at a crossroads,” Prince Harry says in the video. “Where the urgency to reassess and redefine our approach to protecting children has become increasingly evident.

“While the necessity has always been apparent, it is now time to translate that awareness into meaningful action.”

The couple are parents to two young children themselves and understand the needs of infants and the dependency they have on adults, as well as just how vulnerable they actually are, and for a mother like Markle, she warned of the risk of online violence too.

“My husband and I recognise today’s reality is marked by greater connectivity and advanced technology,” Markle added in the clip. “Which of course has many positives.

“But which also compels us to better understand how digital violence against children is manifesting itself in this age.”

Body language expert claims Sussexes seem strong

With all the murmurs of discontentment, with Prince Harry being said to be missing his family and life in the United Kingdom whilst Markle was claimed to be trying to show him what he could be turning his back on, the pair’s video was a good display of unity.

And according to Judi James, a body language expert, that’s exactly what it was as the pair stood firm against the rumors in their latest charitable endeavor, this time from their home in Montecito.

“This video shows that the Harry and Meghan regal-looking double act is still very much a force to be reckoned with,” James told the Daily Express. “Despite their recent trait of working on separate projects and campaigns.

“The body language signals of unity are intense here in terms of twinned mirroring, with both standing upright side-be-side dressed in matching sombre navy jackets and with their poppies pinned to their lapels in a homage to Remembrance Day.”

“The air of royal formality is constant from Harry here. He barely smiles and his attitude looks military, with his hands clasped behind his back and bouncing up and down on his toes to register authority and a serious, assertive approach.

“Meghan’s body language looks softer and her smile is more constant. When Harry speaks, she employs bonding rituals of affection, turning her face to watch him with a smile of approval. It’s a more formal display from Harry though, who rather stiffly puts his arm out around his wife’s back at the end of their presentation.”
