J.K. Rowling has hit back after being accused of hating men and being on a par with a “kill all men” movement because of her stance on women’s rights.
The Harry Potter author has been a vocal critic of trans activists who have bombarded her with messages over her views on gender.
Rowling, 59, posted a screenshot of the reply she received on social media , which ordered her to “stop lying”.
The best-selling novelist, who is consistently vocal in defending women’s rights in the trans debate, shared her response, in which she hit back at the unnamed user.
The person appeared to slam Rowling and other women who share her views as “misandrists” – people who are strongly prejudiced against men.
The post, the origin of which Rowling has removed, reads: “Just admit your hate. Stop lying.

JK Rowling Tweet To gender ideologues, non-compliant women are simultaneously a tiny, insignificant, powerless group that will die out very soon, and a monstrous malign force that causes death to trans people simply by speaking. But to call us misandrists is one hell of a tell. https://x.com/jk_rowling/status/1838511365205450959
“Like I said, TERFs (trans exclusionary radical feminists) are just a small group of women on par with a kill all men movement.
“Just a bunch of bitter old… misandrists vomiting your hate everywhere.”
Rowling’s response came less than 20 minutes later.
She posted: “To gender ideologues, non-compliant women are simultaneously a tiny, insignificant, powerless group that will die out very soon, and a monstrous malign force that causes death to trans people simply by speaking.
“But to call us misandrists is one hell of a tell.”
It has since received over 3,500 likes and 500 comments from social media users keen to share their own opinions.
Rowling, has come under fire in recent years and a hate figure among elements of the transgender community.
In June 2020, Rowling tweeted dismissively about an article with the headline, “Creating a more equal post-COVID-19 world for people who menstruate.”
“‘People who menstruate.’ I’m sure there used to be a word for those people,” Rowling tweeted.
“Someone help me out. Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud?”
The phrase “people who menstruate” had been used to be more inclusive of trans men and non-binary people.
Rowling also said that “if sex isn’t real, the lived reality of women globally is erased.”
The tweets were quickly condemned as anti-trans.
In 2021, she criticised police for letting rape suspects identify as women.
She also criticised Scotland’s Scotland’s new Hate Crime and Public Order Act when it came into effect in April this year.
Her stance has caused many fans and stars of the Harry Potter franchise to distance themselves from her.
Actors Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and Eddie Redmayne have all spoken out against the author, with some calling for boycotts of projects linked to her.

LONDON – NOVEMBER 4: British author J.K. Rowling, creator of the Harry Potter children’s books, and 11 year old Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter in the film version) attend the world film premiere of “Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone” at the Odeon Leicester Square cinema in London on November 4, 2001.
In response, Rowling has only doubled down on her views.
