According to Marc Stein, Doncic’s home in Dallas was burglarized on Friday while no one was home. The police have filed a report, and an investigation is currently underway. Luka’s business manager, Lara Beth Seager, reassured fans that Dončić and his family are safe.
“No one was home at the time, and thankfully, Luka and his family are safe. Luka has filed a police report, and an investigation is ongoing,” Seager stated.
This incident follows a recent trend of burglaries involving NBA players, including Milwaukee Bucks star Bobby Portis and Minnesota Timberwolves guard Mike Conley Jr. In response, the NBA has advised players to take extra precautions to protect their homes. The league has recommended updated alarm systems, cameras, and protective guard services, particularly when players are away for extended periods.
When Will Luka Doncic Return To The Court?
Luka Doncic is going through a difficult stretch, both on and off the court. Before news broke about the burglary at his Dallas home, the 24-year-old also sustained a calf injury during the Mavericks’ 105-99 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday.
The Mavs star missed two straight games last week and five consecutive games last month. Despite the setbacks, Doncic has been delivering stellar numbers on the court. Before his latest injury, he averaged 28.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 7.8 assists per game while shooting 46.4 percent from the field.
