Caitlin Clark has been a driving force for the WNBA’s viewership, live attendance and pop culture relevance. But one thing she hasn’t done, apparently, is become the favorite player of another up-and-coming star, Rapper GloRillaa.
The rapper was at T-Mobile Arena on Tuesday to watch the NBA Cup Final between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Oklahoma City Thunder. While in Las Vegas, the “I LUV HER” rapper was asked about the WNBA player she liked best. Her answer wasn’t Caitlin Clark.
“My favorite player right now for the guys, LeBron (James),” GloRilla told Swish Cultures’ Ashten Jewell. “And then I love my girl Angel Reese.”
Fans of the 25-year-old Grammy nominee won’t be surprised that she named Reese, Clark’s longtime hardcourt rival, as her favorite WNBA player.
In October, GloRilla, on Reese’s podcast “Unapologetically Angel,” told the Chicago Sky forward that she was awestruck by her height when they first met at a Chicago concert.
“I was like, ‘Wow, you tall as f**k,’” the rapper told Reese, who stands 6-foot-3. “You made me feel like a midget. I was like, ‘Wow.’ But you just so pretty.”
In that same episode, Reese brought up the topic of dating and even implied that she’d set up GloRilla with some people she knew.
“They athletes? Send them to me,” said GloRilla.
Caitlin Clark took a picture with Justin Timberlake
While there has been no reaction from Caitlin Clark regarding GloRilla’s preference for Reese, the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year appears to be enjoying herself during the offseason.
When pop star Justin Timberlake pulled up at Gainbridge Fieldhouse for a concert on Monday, Clark was in attendance along with her boyfriend, Indiana Pacers assistant coach Connor McCaffery. They were joined by Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton and his significant other, Jade Jones.
Clark and her companions took a groupie. Timberlake — who was playing notes on a keyboard when the picture was taken — appeared to be staring directly at the frame.
Netizens took note as they reacted:
“Wait this is so cute, and why is JTim looking directly at the (GOAT) /camera?,” said one online user.
“Lol, JT looked their way too,” said another netizen.
