Former NBA champion Paul Pierce believes that the time has arrived for Joel Embiid to part ways with the Philadelphia 76ers. Embiid and the Sixers have been involved in some unwanted controversies recently. With sensitive information getting leaked about Embiid, things are clearly going down the drain. In addition to that, Embiid’s side has been showing dismal performance this season. After playing 16 games, the 76ers have managed only three wins so far. And the tally of losses? Well, 13!

Speaking of the recent scenario, the former NBA champ spilled some bitter truth for Embiid and the 76ers. Appearing recently on Fox Sports ‘Speak,’ Paul Pierce cited that the relationship between both parties looked beyond improvement. He also stated that a golden handshake is truly what the need of the hour is at the moment.

“I hate to say it, but I believe the process is over in Philadelphia…,” Pierce said.

“They’ve tried this for a number of years, I think the relationships have soured in Philadelphia. Although Joel Embiid is a generational talent, an MVP in this league, I just think it’s time for both sides to part ways,” Pierce added. Surely, Pierce might have a good reasoning here, as what went down recently was not at all a pleasant advertisement.

Joel Embiid Embarrassed With Leaked Information From ‘Snitch’

Recently, Shams Charania made the story about Tyrese Maxey calling out Embiid for being late. Once this got published, Embiid was shocked, as it all happened inside a closed-door meeting. While the 76ers star did accept that the information was real, Embiid was furious at the snitch who leaked the information to ESPN.

“Whoever leaked that is a real piece of s**t. We talked about a lot of things [during the meeting]. I don’t want to get into the details, but that whole thing [with Maxey] probably took 30 seconds,” Embiid stated as per the reports submitted by Philadelphia Inquirer’s Gina Mazell. Surely, with things taking a somber turn, what happens next remains to be seen.
