The story has been told before: Katy Perry kissed a girl, and she liked it.
But on Saturday night, it was the one and only tongue-wagging Miley Cyrus on the receiving end of a smooch from the songstress.
The pair of music mavens locked lips during the Bangerz star’s Los Angeles concert, and the intimate moment was viewed by an array of Miley’s celebrity friends that were there to show their support: the Kardashians, Hilary Duff, Nicole Richie and Christina Aguilera, to name but a few.
As half of Hollywood flocked Downtown to the Staples Centre to watch the Wrecking Ball singer perform in her current hometown, it was likely that they were expecting a spectacle of some sort from the controversial 21-year-old.
And, staying true to her standard behavioral habits, Miley did not disappoint.
Dressed in a black and gold sparkling ensemble that hugged her petite body like a glove, the blonde approached the end of the stage where she found 29-year-old Katy sitting front and centre.
Everyone’s loving her! Christina Aguilera tweeted a snap of Miley on stage expressing her love with the caption ‘cheers from one dirrty girl to the next’
It’s Miley time! Hilary Duff and her hair stylist friend Marcus Francis imitated the Bangerz star’s tongue antics as they headed to her Los Angeles concert on Saturday night
In front of her audience of thousands, the pair of musical ladies shared a proper, no holds barred, kiss on the lips.
The smooch was captured by camera phones everywhere, but the aftermath was the part Katy was quick to post to her Twitter account.
The snap from the pretty brunette Roar singer shows both she and Miley giggling following their touchy-feely ordeal.

Although Katy probably got the closest, she wasn’t the only celebrity out to support Miley on Saturday night.
Hilary Duff – who is newly single – was out with her hairstylist friend Marcus Francis, and the pair paid homage to Miley’s signature tongue-wag in an Instagram snap prior to the show.
Dressed in sexy ripped jeans and Timberlands, Khloé Kardashian led her leather-clad sister Kendall Jenner into the venue, where Kourtney Kardashian was also partying with a few of her other friends.
Nicole Richie and Joel Madden were the rockers of the evening, with the married couple dressed in head-to-toe black as they held hands and made their way into the concert hall.

It’s love: Nicole stayed close to her beau and gripped his hand in the chill
The Wanted singer Max George – whose girlfriend Nina Agdal has been working on the Entourage movie of late – looked thrilled to be there as he rolled by in a slick leather jacket.
Fellow songstress Christina Aguilera made sure she threw out her support via Twitter, posting a photo of Miley on stage clad in her once-signature leather chaps with an accompanying caption that said: ‘Cheers from one dirrty girl to the next, Miley Cyrus… wear ’em loud & proud girl – yes!!’
There was no shortage of love for Miley as she continued on her Bangerz tour, continuing to whip
up a frenzy at least every second day with her variety of on-stage antics and shameless tongue-lashings.

While Miley is no stranger to making headlines, during Thursday night’s performance in Anaheim, Califonia, it was her opening act, Sky Ferreira, who caused quite the stir after slicing her leg open during her set.
The 21-year-old fell over during her first song of the evening but carried on performing, completely unaware that she had an open wound on her right leg that was pouring with blood.
The trooper soldiered on, completing her performance before being stretchered off to a nearby hospital, where she received a whopping 60 stitches.
Taking to Twitter to fill fans in on the incident, the singer-songwriter proved she wasn’t in too much pain as she posed for a photo as a ghost with a sheet over her head and sunglasses over the top.
‘I fell during the intro of the 1st song of the set. I ended up with 60 stitches & at the hospital for 7 hours. I didn’t even notice the injury until 10 mins after I played bc I had so much fun. I just figured it was some blood. I’m so excited to do the LA show tomorrow (despite the not so cool bandage around my leg). Thanks @mileycyrus for having me (sic),’ she wrote.

Back onboard for Saturday’s show, she once again made light of the situation as she tweeted, ‘Someone chop my right leg off’.
Known as much for her scantily-clad stage outfits as she is her music these days, Miley made her foray into fashion for the tour, joining forces with controversial designer Brian Lichtenberg, to create a merchandise line together.
The designer caused outrage when he released his ‘designer drug collection’ last year, featuring jerseys with prescription medication names Xanax and Vicodin on them, among others.
