Monaco posted a series of pictures on her Instagram handle. She was seen wearing a brown asymmetrical dress. Reacting to the post, Arenas wrote:

Gilbert Arenas and Melli Monaco are officially engaged and they have been so for two months now. However, when Arenas had to get on his knees and ask for her hand, the man who entertained thousands of people in the arena, froze.
The former Washington Wizards player took to his social media and shared the big news with his fans. Posting a video of the couple, Arenas wrote in the caption that he proposed to Monaco at the Eiffel Tower and he said “yes” himself instead of waiting for her response.
“🗣️The Eiffel Tower is Where it happened, She said nothing 🤷🏾♂️😂 i guess i was so nervous, i asked and answered 💥yes 💥for her 🥴🥴🥴 so im technically engaged to myself at the moment 😬 @mellimonaco still waiting 🙏🏿,” Arenas wrote.
However, Monaco provided clarity about how Arenas was struggling with nervousness. In the comment section, replying to him, Monaco said that Gilbert Arenas proposed to her and said “yes” on her behalf in one breath while he was on his knees.
“This man went down on one knee and said all in the same breath ‘will you marry me yes’ 😂😂😂 I don’t think an answer was needed 🤷🏽♀️,” Monaco wrote in the comment section, replying to Arenas.
According to Essence, Arenas met Monaco while she was streaming live on Instagram. Luckily for him, he took his chance and today, they are ready to spend their life together. Arenas was previously engaged to reality TV personality Laura Govan. They broke things off in 2014.
