NHL to announce All-Quarter Century teams for all 32 franchises in the league and the details have now been spilled
It was noted this past summer that the NHL will be announcing All-Quarter Century teams for all franchises, including the Chicago Blackhawks of course.
Things took a twist, when a report surfaced on Saturday that the NHL will not be selecting the teams- but fans will be.
The rosters are set to be made up of the First and Second Team, each having three forwards, two defenseman and one goaltender.
The players selected will be chosen from anyone who has played a game with their respective franchise since Jan. 1, 2000.
NHL executives, media and retired players will be featured in these teams, and also selected by themselves as well.
The rosters will reportedly be released starting December 30th as the St.Louis Blues and Chicago Blackhawks will be the first rosters released prior to their New Years Eve (Dec. 31) Winter Classic game.
The fan vote will comprise 100 percent of the NHL’s First Quarter-Century Team and will be made up only of players from the respective team rosters. The Blackhawks should be very well represented on the league-wide list over the past 25 years.

My All-Quarter Century Blackhawks
As a reminder, here’s the lineup I selected for my Blackhawks team:
Patrick Sharp – Jonathan Toews – Marian Hossa
Steve Sullivan – Marcus Kruger – Patrick Kane
Duncan Keith – Brent Seabrook
Niklas Hjalmarsson – Connor Murphy
Corey Crawford
Said Chicago Blackhawks reporter Tab Bamford
Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane are easy locks, but the rest? A tough choice, i would personally go Marian Hossa, Patrick Sharp and be left in a pickle for the rest of forwards.
On defense, Duncan Keith, the Hammer Hjalmarsson and Brent Seabrook are easy choices, but the fourth defenseman? Connor Murphy? There is no way, it’ll be interesting to see what fans and NHL executives vote.
