Memphis Grizzlies Injury Report: Latest on Ja Morant, Marcus Smart and other role players’ status for game vs. Raptors (Dec. 26). (Image Source: Imagn)
The Memphis Grizzlies will host the Toronto Raptors in a regular season matchup on Thursday. Memphis has been one of the top teams in the league this season, with head coach Taylor Jenkins effectively managing the roster and adapting seamlessly to injury-related absences.
Currently sitting third in the competitive Western Conference with a 20-10 record, the Grizzlies have demonstrated impressive depth. This is particularly noteworthy given the extended absences of key players, including Ja Morant (12 games), Marcus Smart (12), Desmond Bane (8) and rookie Zach Edey (12).
For Thursday’s game, Memphis has listed several players on the injury report. The good news for fans is that Ja Morant, the team’s dynamic leader, will be available to play and rookie Zach Edey will also suit up.
However, Marcus Smart has been ruled out as he continues to recover from a right index finger injury, marking his 13th missed game of the season. Colin Castleton will also be unavailable as he is with the G League team. Jay Huff, who has been a key contributor for the Grizzlies this season, is sidelined with a left ankle sprain.
Additionally, GG Jackson II (right fifth metatarsal repair) and Vince Williams Jr. (right ankle sprain) remain out as they recover from their respective injuries.
