Fans are slamming the release of photos of One Direction member Liam Payne’s dead body on Wednesday following his tragic passing in Argentina
Liam Payne tragically died on Wednesday after falling off the third floor of the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Argentina. He was 31.
TMZ recently posted — then deleted — photos of the One Direction singer’s dead body and fans are slamming the shots of the crime scene when they surfaced on social media.
“Absolutely grim era in journalism where editors suddenly think it’s okay to post photos of a person’s dead body in an article. Celebrity or not, Liam Payne has a 7-year-old son who will likely stumble across that at some point. Awful,” someone wrote online.
“Pls be careful when looking into Liam death.. I just saw his body. now im shaking and can’t unsee it. it’s going around and people are posting it,” one wrote.
A user added on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Why are news outlets posting pictures of the liam’s death body??? that’s a bit too much omg what’s wrong with y’all.”
“Can you guys PLEASE NOT SHARE THE PICTURES OF LIAM’S BODY? ARE YOU GUYS OK?” screamed another.
A fan chimed in: “Ok to everyone making jokes about Liam’s death you are just as horrible as the tabloids trying to make a quick buck by posting his deceased body. wtf is wrong with you?”
The musician’s body was spotted on his hotel deck with tables and chairs nearby, with his tattoos clearly visible, according to TMZ. He fell on a wooden deck and was found around 5 p.m.

Witnesses told the outlet that Liam was acting erratically before his death and smashed his laptop. He reportedly was carried from his hotel back to his room from the lobby.
Just 45 minutes before he died, Liam posted a series of photos on Snapchat. He shared a shirtless picture of himself standing next to girlfriend Katie Cassidy, who donned a black bikini during their visit in Argentina.
He also posted a snap of the two having breakfast and “enjoying coffee” at around 1 p.m. He also told his Snapchat followers that they were going to ride horses and teased that he would be playing Polo again.
Liam was one of five members of One Direction alongside Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Harry Styles. The band was formed on the television show X-Factor in 2010 by Simon Cowell and Nicole Scherzinger. In 2015, Zayn left the band and the group then went on a hiatus in 2016.
