Kyrie Irving is eager to bear fines on behalf of Naji Marshall and P.J. Washington! Well, not really. In what was a seemingly uneventful game, the audience got their adrenaline pumping when P.J. Washington, Naji Marshall, and Jusuf Nurkic got into a tangle. During the third quarter, Nurkic fouled Mavericks’ Daniel Gafford. However, things did not end there. Nurkic suddenly turned around and marched towards Gafford, who was still on the ground.

After getting into a verbal altercation with Naji Marshall, Nurkic took a wild swipe on Marshall’s head. This escalated the entire situation as Marshall responded with a punch. Soon, both the athletes were separated, and P.J. Washington, Naji Marshall, and Nurkic all were ejected from the game. Reacting to the incident, Irving stated that he was ready to pay fines on behalf of his teammates. “Throw that shit under the rug. Excuse my language… Maybe that’s just the way we end 2024, where somebody actually swings in the NBA. Maybe that will help our ratings,” said Irving via Duane Rankin.

The 32-year-old threw a subtle hint at the declining NBA ratings over the last few months. Irving joked that maybe these types of fights are necessary to make the NBA ratings soar again.  Now, this was not the only time Irving has brought out his funny side. Recently, the NBA star was questioning the reasoning of the younger generation.

Kyrie Irving Confused About His ‘Unc’ Title

The Dallas Mavericks star recently appeared on Kai Cenat’s ‘Mafiathon’. However, things got slightly salty as the NBA star entered the show. When Kai Cenat saw Irving, he addressed him as ‘unc.’ Surely, this was something uncalled for Kyrie Irving. After all, he was only 32 years old.

Thus, Irving complained significantly about the younger generation’s choice of words. “Look, the only thing about this generation now is the vocabulary. When you call somebody Unc in their 30s while we’re still getting after it in our own way…. come on, bro,” said Irving. However, moments later, the duo shared a good laugh about the same. Thus, showing his funny side often, Kyrie Irving has established himself as quite a character in the NBA realm.
