Kyle Palmieri showcased what a tough customer he is by coming back to the game, after suffering a brutal cut. The cut was a result of a follow-through that wouldn’t see him return to the bench until the 2nd period.
As you can see this isn’t just a minor cut, as it went past his lip into his face.
Of course, every hockey player is dedicated to their team’s success, and despite the cut being so prominent he’d dedicate his game to beating the Rangers.
With Palmieri absent from the ice, the Rangers would gain a 2-goal lead, and the forward’s warrior nature stood out.
He’d crash the net with Brock Nelson and helped score the Islanders’ second goal of the day.
Unfortunately, Palmieri and Nelson wouldn’t have the juice to overcome the Rangers who’d win 4-2.
But they’d do their best to keep their rivals at bay on Sunday.
Palmieri despite the gruesome injury would score 1 point( 1 A), and play 17: 11 TOI, with 23 shifts, and 4 shots on goal tonight.
If the Islanders are to keep their head above water in the Metropolitan Division, they’ll need the grit that only Palmieri seems to deliver.
In the last 5 games Palmieri has 3 points( 2 G, 1 A) and a face full of stitches to show for it.
